water spinach, an aquatic vegetable (Malay)
kway teow
flat rice noodles (Hokkien 粿条)
lengkuas
blue ginger (Malay)
mee
thick egg noodles (Hokkien 麺)
serai
lemon grass (Malay)
sotong
squid/cuttlefish (Malay)
spare parts
offal such as liver, heart, gizzard
tang hoon
thin, transparent starch noodles (Hokkien 冬粉)
gearbox
'knee' or shin part of cow
